Hi, hello! It’s only been like, what, 5 months since I last posted anything on here? Oops. I don’t know what’s happened but I seemed to have taken a turn to posting on Instagram more and more (probably because of the easiness of the app and It’s where I find myself looking for inspiration and checking to see what everyone’s upto on there.)
So anyway, I kinda thought I’d just write on here today and basically fill you in with anything and everything that’s been happening in my life the past few months or so as well as a few things that have been on my mind recently.
I’ve spent a few weekends down in Wales this year (I’m actually heading there after work this Easter weekend) which makes me happy especially knowing the weather has decided to take a very pleasant turn and means bare leg dressing is upon us once again. I’m hoping that’s going to mean spending a lot of time outside and at the beach which Is my happy place.
I’ve spent a lot of time watching my younger sister Kiara dance this year in various crews, and watching her progress as a dancer is really mesmerizing. I’ve always been so supportive of my sister’s dancing, constantly wanting her to do well and put herself out there more as I know she has a talent and I want to see her excel in it.
I also shot with Ryan last week which was a dream (again). I was after a more editorial look for this beautiful dress by Collusion…a brand I AM OBSESSED WITH. And he captured just what I had envisioned. It’s crazy how many places I’ve found to shoot near where I live which means heading to London to shoot content isn’t a must anymore. Especially if you want something different.
Then, about a month or so ago I got asked to be a part of a collaboration with underwear brand Sloggi North which I was so thrilled about as it had been quite a while since I had worked with a brand like this and honestly creating such fun content for Sloggi has been a dream as they are a brand I love due to their creative content and desire to make women no matter their shape and size feel confident and comfortable in their underwear.
I am so excited that I FINALLY got round to changing my blog name after so long of hating my previous domain ‘Glorious Chic’. I never really felt like my blog name reflected me as a person and it definitely wasn’t personal enough which was something I wanted my blog to really be about. A lot of you may know I actually don’t have a middle name…my name is simply Caitlin Porter however Ruby has always been a name I loved, it has a super sentimental meaning to my mum (it was the name of her gran) and I’d often refer to myself as Caitlin Ruby Porter when I was younger.
I have actually decided I will be legally adding this to my name come July (after my holiday) which is super exciting and makes me feel all that little bit closer to my mum and her family. When I told her, she looked like she was about to cry, good tears of course so yes come summer time you can refer to me as Caitlin Ruby Porter.
I only have one holiday planned (so far) this year but it’s one that is literally making me happy even just thinking about. I’M GOING TO BARBADOS. I honestly don’t remember the last time I was so excited about a holiday like this, and maybe more so because of the sentimental reasoning behind why me and my family are going. It’s my parents 25th wedding anniversary then and they got married at the exact hotel we are staying in all those years ago, so, yes it’s definitely going to be a holiday to remember.
I’ve been constantly looking at all the things to do there and weather updates for that month (it’s going to be bloody boiling) so will prepare to bring my factor 50 along with me…you think I’m joking but I burn pretty easily after like 5 minutes in the sun. There’s everything from swimming with turtles, to catamaran boat rides to yoga on the beach so expect plenty of aesthetically pleasing pictures come June time.
